A separate window
The companion sits beside Diablo, usually on a second monitor. It is not an in-game overlay.
Visible information
The prototype analyzes screen pixels locally. Map predictions are estimates from familiar geometry, clearly marked as uncertain.
A focused beginning
Initial alpha testing targets solo Greater Rifts on Windows PC, starting with Crusader / Fist of the Heavens and a limited set of supported configurations.
BUILDING IN THE OPEN
Progress, with perspective.
Rift Buddy is in development. A working prototype and promising replay results are steps toward a reliable product.
CoE & experience
Rotation timing, audio cues, XP/session metrics and history exist. Recognition and live reliability are still being tested.
Mapping & elite detection
Recorded replays guide room matching, retained geometry and elite event detection. Coverage and real-world accuracy remain under evaluation.
Private alpha
The plan is a free, invitation-only alpha. Supported configurations, public availability and release timing are not yet finalized.
Next priorities: reliable live sessions, broader hardware testing, and a stronger reviewed tile library. Pylon and buff indicators are planned later.

Can I download Rift Buddy today?
The separate PC compatibility checker is available below. The full Rift Buddy companion remains in private development, with alpha builds and review tasks shared directly with invited participants.
Is a second monitor required?
The visual companion is designed for a second screen. CoE audio cues can be useful without one. A phone companion is a possible future feature, not part of the initial alpha commitment.
Does the map reveal hidden game information?
Mapping research works from visible screen geometry and previously studied room shapes. A possible unseen outline is a hypothesis, not a reading of hidden game state. Dotted predictions do not confirm an exit, enemy, pylon or walkable route.
Is Rift Buddy an official or approved Blizzard tool?
No. Rift Buddy is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment. There is no claim of Blizzard approval or guaranteed account safety.
What will it cost?
The planned invitation-only alpha is free. Pricing, trial details and a paid release date have not been announced.
