THE REVIEWER GUIDE
Good evidence.
A better companion.
Careful reviews help us understand where Rift Buddy works, where it struggles, and what needs to change.
The PC checker is available as a separate download. Private review tools and companion alpha builds are shared with invited participants. There is no public sign-in or upload form here.
PC COMPATIBILITY CHECKER
Download. Check. Review.
- Download the Windows x64 ZIP and extract the whole folder.
- Read the included instructions, then start the checker.
- Review the report before sharing it through the channel supplied with your invitation. Nothing is sent automatically.
This is an unsigned preview. If Windows blocks it, report the message; do not disable antivirus or Windows security protections. No live test result is implied by a successful checker run.
Download compatibility checker ↓ Read release notes ↗Three ways to help.
- Compare recurring rooms
Look at the original map images and compare the shape of the whole room. Choose Same, Different or Cannot tell. Connectors, decorative shading and partial coverage can make a match uncertain.
- Check a PC configuration
Run the separate public compatibility checker and review its local report. Its release notes explain exactly what it covers. Recorded detection and live-game validation are separate tests.
- Test during a real run
Live sessions reveal capture problems, recognition failures and delays that recordings cannot fully reproduce. Report what happened, what the companion showed, and the approximate time.
WHEN REVIEWING A MAP
“Cannot tell” is useful.
A confident guess can make a library less accurate. If an image is too faint, incomplete or obscured, mark the uncertainty. A recurring decorative pattern is not automatically a wall or a complete tile.
Use the full-floor context when available. Two similar screenshots may show the same floor, so image count alone is not proof of repeated tiles across different floors.
WHEN TESTING A BUILD
Be specific about the result.
Describe the build, display setup, resolution and the action that triggered the issue. Separate what you saw in Diablo from what Rift Buddy reported.
Review screenshots or reports before sharing them. Only send material you intend the project to receive, using the channel provided with your invitation.
CURRENT TESTING DIRECTION
A focused alpha.
The initial target is solo Greater Rift play on Windows PC, starting with Crusader / Fist of the Heavens. Broader class and configuration support depends on evidence and readiness.
- CoE rotation and audio timing, including recovery from unclear observations.
- XP/session updates, area recognition and rift completion.
- Observed-map continuity and repeated-room matching.
- Clear separation of observed walls and uncertain predicted outlines.
No public release date or finalized support matrix has been announced. The planned invitation-only alpha is free; paid pricing is undecided.
Independent judgement matters.
Algorithm suggestions, assistant assessments and human reviews are tracked separately. A saved review can guide future improvements, but it does not automatically certify a tile, change the live companion or make a predicted wall a fact.
